Dealer Championship heads for The Hippodrome

Mo_APR1The 11th European Dealer Championship will come to London for the first time next month in a hotly anticipated contest taking place here, at The Hippodrome.

Organised by Hippodrome gaming floor manager Murat Salih, alongside the European Casino Association in conjunction with the National Casino Forum, the 2017 championships will take place from May 8-10.

Launched in 2007, the EDC has grown into one of the premier events in the gaming industry’s calendar and this year will bring together 33 participants from a record-breaking 21 European countries.

In a battle to crown Europe’s best of the best, up to two talented entrants have been submitted from some of the biggest casino operators in the industry.

More than 30 judges from 21 countries will oversee three main categories – technical skill, game control and hospitality – in a knockout competition over two days. Over the course of the competition, dealers will showcase their talent and skill on two of the most popular casino table games, American roulette and blackjack.

Hippodrome CEO Simon Thomas said: “This is one of the casino industry’s biggest events and we’re proud to be hosting it at The Hippodrome. Dealers are the lifeblood of the casino industry, and the EDC is a magnificent opportunity to celebrate the incredible talent out there. Good luck to everyone.”

Tracey Damestani, CEO of the National Casino Forum, said: “The EDC brings the casino community together and competitors get a chance to see how dealers from different countries perform. It’s extremely competitive but friendly too. The title of EDC Champion has true kudos across the ECA membership countries.”
